PoleMoves Teacher Training is a sixteen-hour workshop that teaches instructors the skills to create fitness-oriented pole workout classes. Participants will learn and experience proper hand positions and grip of the pole; the correct posture and stance of the body during pole dancing; spins, floor work and transitions; climbing, sequencing, class formats, effective ways to communicate the mind-body connection; and methods for developing safe teaching skills for basic movements. PoleMoves Teacher Training is designed for people who want to learn, practice, and teach pole workouts. There are no prerequisites, only the desire to learn and commitment to attend.
We want you to leave this training with information that you can use for a long time in developing safe, effective and fun classes. In this training you will learn ten body positions, twelve ground movements, three transitions to standing, six standing movements, eight flexibility movements, four strengthening movements, sixteen standing transitions, ten outside leg spins, twelve inside leg spins, six intermediate spins, two climbs, five static holds, and two inversions.
PoleMoves mission is to create a community to legitimize and teach pole classes in the mainstream fitness arena. We provide teacher trainings, standardized curriculum, assistance in finding appropriate equipment for health club settings, and techniques to make pole movement accessible for everyone. We are also committed to promoting the benefits of pole dancing, which include developing strength, power, and fluidity of the body, as well as enhancing the mind-body connection, and increasing body image and self-confidence.

Once completing the course you will receive a certificate of completion. If you meet the requirements, (must have CPR, Group Fitness/Personal Trainer, or BS degree in a related field), you will also earn a Teacher Certificate.
PoleMoves is recognized by the American Council on Exercise as a Continuing Education Provider.
This course has been approved by AFAA for continuing education units, but was not developed by AFAA. Therefore it does not count as an AFAA course which is required for recertification.

East Coast PoleMoves Master Trainer, Angela
Angela holds two Bachelor of Science degrees, the first in Respiratory Therapy, and the second in Nursing. She is a wife, mother of two, an ACE certified Group Fitness Instructor, and holds a Pole Dance Instructor Certification through the Pole Fitness Studio. After having her children, she had cut her nursing career to part-time to spend more time at home. While trying to get back in shape, she discovered pole fitness and its incredible mind and body benefits. In 2007, she opened the Pole Power Studio in Ocean City, MD, and in 2010, she opened a second studio in Salisbury, MD. She teaches beginner through advanced pole fitness classes and workshops, chair dance, and other specialty workshops, as well as providing instructor training. Angela has a great understanding of the pole moves, techniques, and body positioning, and provides a safe and an encouraging class environment for women of all ages, sizes, and fitness levels. She is very passionate about the benefits of pole and proud to be a part of the pursuit to make pole a respectable form of dance and fitness. Angela has trained with many of the top names in the industry and is a member of the Pole Fitness Association, American Pole Fitness Association, International Pole Federation, and the US Pole Dance Federation. She was also an APFC 2011 Elite Finalist, and voted 2011 Best Pole Instructor by the Pole Dance International Magazine.
